What casinos should I start playing Texas Hold Em’ at in Las Vegas for a beginner?

I’m a beginner at Texas Hold Em’ and I would like to know what casinos I should start playing at to get good at the game and maybe win some money.

stay away from where the locals play (generally where there is really good comps you have more locals). Stay away from big stakes or card rooms that are know for big stakes.

Look for other rookie tourists. Places like Imperial Palace and Stratosphere and Sahara.

I would say go to the Sahara, they have 3 tournaments a day at 11am, 7pm, and 11pm.. The buy-in is only 42 dollars with an option for one re-buy at 20 dollars, you get 2500 to start and 1500 for the re-buy. And you get 20 minute rounds. First place pays out around 3500 bucks when over 100 people play. They usually have over 100 on a weekend so the prize pool is nice, and they also run a 2-4 game with only one big blind so you save a dollar a round, and they have a no-limit game 1-2 for a 500 dollar cap. The players in these games range from very good, to very poor and loose. good luck…

I really liked Treasure Island (AKA ‘TI’). The room is fresh and new, not at all intimidating to a new player. They have $1/$3 no limit going all the time, and of course higher stakes and limit. They also do sit n go tournaments like online.

They also have six tournaments a day at about noon, 2am – 7am – 11am – 2pm – 7pm – 10pm. But it is only $60 to enter, which is a fair price. If you get knocked out in the first hour you can buy in again if there are spaces. There is also a $5 add on in the first break. You probably get about 20-40 players depending on the day and time, which means a decent prize pool. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
